Sudanese Army Attack Death Toll Rises
At least 153 people have been killed in a drone attack targeting a market in the Abyei area of Sudan, with ongoing fires hampering rescue operations. The attack has displaced approximately 8,000 people. Sudanese authorities have accused the Sudanese Armed Forces of being responsible for the attack, while South Sudan summoned the Sudanese ambassador in protest. The impact of the strikes is still ongoing, and the death toll from recent airstrikes in Sudan has risen to over 250. There are concerns about the humanitarian consequences and renewed tensions in the region.
