Macron assures measures for Saturday protests
French President Emmanuel Macron announced that during his Gulf tour, he secured quantities of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Qatar, with an agreement to ensure an amount equivalent to 2 terawatt-hours per month during the winter. The visit comes amid regional challenges, particularly tensions with Iran, and reflects France and Qatar's efforts to strengthen cooperation in securing maritime routes and energy supplies. Additionally, it supports mediation efforts in regional crises, including backing the Lebanese army and redeploying alternative international forces to replace UNIFIL. This move is highly significant as it allows France to ensure a reliable energy supply, at a time when the region is facing disturbances that threaten the stability of energy markets.
