Al-Burhan allows return, excludes Hamdok
The article focused on efforts to promote peace in Sudan amid escalating armed conflicts. President of the Sovereign Council, Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, welcomed the return of Sudanese willing to engage in dialogue, reaffirming his rejection of the return of political forces opposed to the government, such as Abdullah Hamdok and " Forces for Freedom and Change" (FFC). He also ruled out negotiations with the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), considering them a threat to national security. Additionally, he pointed out that the security situation is deteriorating, with the casualty count from the Abyei attack exceeding 220 killed and more than 8,000 displaced. There have been accusations against the army of targeting fuel trucks. Meanwhile, international consultations in Geneva continue to support peace efforts, although without direct participation from the conflicting parties.
