Syrian judiciary explains Assad's default ruling
The article discussed the Syrian judgment against Bashar al-Assad, confirming that it was issued by a Syrian criminal court based on evidence proving his direct responsibility through chain of command and issuance of orders, rather than simply due to his position. The judge explained that the rulings issued in absentia have legal effect and are sent to Interpol, and they are nullified through surrender or arrest. He also emphasized that the court is committed to the principles of justice and ensuring victims' rights, currently pursuing around 61 cases related to violations, as Syria continues along the path of transitional justice.
