UAE: Umm Al Quwain Beaches Closed Due to Oil Spill
The UAE Ministry of Climate Change and Environment has temporarily closed all beaches and coastal areas in the Emirate of Umm Al Quwain following marine pollution caused by an oil spill from a maritime vessel. This incident has led to the emission of unpleasant odors in the area. It has been observed that these odors do not pose health risks to residents. Work crews have begun containment and cleanup operations to address the oil pollution, alongside conducting an environmental assessment to restore ecological safety. The beaches will remain closed until the assessment is complete and necessary measures are taken. Residents and fishermen are advised to stay away from the affected areas.
