“Fierce clashes broke out on the Maqatirah front along the border between Lahj and Taiz after the Houthis sent reinforcements in an attempt to advance toward positions overlooking the Hijjat al-Abd road. Government forces and local resistance fighters responded with shelling, counterattacks and air support. The forces recaptured Mount Anan and repelled the advance toward Maqatirah Fortress. Local sources reported that around 60 bodies of Houthi fighters had arrived in the city of Turbah, while the movement of other reinforcements was disrupted after roads were targeted. The fighting raised concerns about the movement of civilians and supplies along the Hijjat al-Abd road. Meanwhile, a female civilian was killed and five other people, including a child, were injured in attacks in Taiz governorate.”
