The Chinese Communist Party has begun the process of electing delegates to its 21st National Congress, following the Central Committee’s issuance of a circular outlining work plans and electoral arrangements. A total of 2,360 delegates will be elected through 38 electoral units across the country for the congress, which is scheduled to take place in Beijing in the second half of 2027. The process will emphasize political standards, eligibility, and discipline to ensure the delegates’ competence and broad representation.
