Germany faces record political crimes
The German government announced a record high in the number of politically motivated crimes in 2025, totaling approximately 86,000 incidents—an unprecedented figure since statistics began in 2001. Data indicated that far-left extremists were responsible for 42% of acts of violence, while far-right extremists were responsible for the majority of assaults, amounting to nearly 1,600 violent acts. Anti-Semitic attacks also increased by 5%, exceeding 6,500 incidents. The report emphasized that social crises and rising polarization are contributing to the spread of violence and extremism.
