Lebanon's Negotiation Efforts Hindered by Hezbollah
Lebanon's efforts are focused on ending the war with Israel through direct negotiations, having held four rounds so far. Meanwhile, Hezbollah refuses to cooperate with the Lebanese government and clashes with the independent negotiating process backed by the United States. Lebanon affirms its right to negotiate as an independent state and calls on Hezbollah to fulfill its commitments regarding the monopoly on weapons. American pressures and statements about the intersection of regional tracks are increasing. Lebanon is persistent in its attempts to achieve a ceasefire with Israel, despite ongoing internal and international disagreements over the negotiation pathways.
