The Israeli army killed a senior Hezbollah official named Ali Musa Daqduq, who was considered one of its most important leaders and connected to terrorist operations in the southern Litani River area. Daqduq had previously been imprisoned in 2007 for his involvement in the kidnapping and killing of five American soldiers in Iraq, and he was convicted before being released in 2012, despite American sanctions imposed on him. This action falls within Israel's efforts to target Hezbollah leaders and halt its military activities.
