The Egyptian Ministry of Local Development and Environment has announced the launch of measures to monitor and eradicate the Indian Myna bird, which has been spreading increasingly beyond its native habitat in South Asia. This bird is considered an invasive species that competes with local birds for food and nesting sites, posing a threat to the ecological balance and biodiversity in Egypt. The measures include removing nests, sealing nesting sites, regulating food sources, as well as restricting hunting and implementing biological control methods to manage its spread.
