Ehud Barak, the former Israeli Prime Minister, issued a warning about the possibility that Benjamin Netanyahu might carry out attacks in Lebanon with the aim of disrupting the upcoming general elections in Israel. He explained that Netanyahu seeks to ignite a long-term war that would hinder the resumption of negotiations with Hezbollah and Iran, as well as impede progress on the Lebanese file, potentially leading to a violent military response. Barak also criticized the potential agreement between the United States and Iran, stating that it does not achieve the desired goals, and warned that Netanyahu might use military escalation as a leverage during the elections.
