Germany to Reduce Military Presence in Erbil Following Retaliatory Attacks

The German government has decided to withdraw its troops from Camp Erbil in Iraq by the end of September, following a reduction in troop numbers to around 30 soldiers and a reassessment of their role in the region due to security concerns related to the Iran-Israel war. Germany will continue to provide support and training to the Peshmerga forces from within the embassy, with a team of military advisors remaining to assist the Kurdish forces. This decision is part of a broader plan to reduce Germany's military presence in the Middle East.
