Al-Dhalea city is experiencing intense tension and the main roads have been blocked since this Wednesday morning, coinciding with the visit of Minister of Defense, Lieutenant General Mohsen Al-Aqili, to inspect the fighting fronts in the province. The escalation comes in protest by Southern Resistance fighters over the recent targeting by Houthi militia of a military site in Al-Khisha and Al-Mahra, which resulted in the deaths of several martyrs, sparking anger among the victims’ families. The protests demand accountability for those responsible and a review of security measures, amid heavy security deployment in the area. Al-Dhalea is one of the key frontlines in the confrontation with the Houthis and is currently in a state of heightened tension due to military and political escalations.
