Bolsonaro ahead in Brazil election
The preliminary results of the Brazilian presidential elections show Senator Flávio Bolsonaro, the son of former President Jair Bolsonaro, leading the current candidate Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. Bolsonaro has secured 51.09% of the votes compared to Lula's 40.67%, with about 11% of the votes tallied so far. These results come amid a campaign focused on corruption scandals, economic concerns, and accusations of U.S. interference, and it is expected that vote counts will continue, especially in Lula's strongholds in the Northeast.
