Cornell University rape probe update
New York Governor Kathy Hochul has appointed Attorney General Letitia James as a special prosecutor to investigate the alleged rape of a woman at Cornell University. The case originated from a civil lawsuit filed by the woman, accusing several men from a fraternity of drugging and assaulting her in 2024, prompting a broader investigation into Cornell's handling of the incident. Hochul expressed concerns about local prosecutors' ability to oversee the case fairly and announced the re-opening of the investigation.
