Teachers' Union Appeals to Government

The Teachers' Union in Lebanon demanded the swift disbursement of the 200 billion Lebanese pounds allocated for the Compensation Fund, holding the Ministry of Finance responsible for the delay. They emphasized that releasing the funds is essential to strengthen the rights of teachers and retirees, whose purchasing power diminishes as living costs rise. They also called on the government and the Ministry of Finance to include the remaining 450 billion pounds in the 2027 budget in a clear manner, reaffirming that supporting the Compensation Fund is a duty of the state and not a favor or promise to be postponed. The union committed to continuing their efforts until full implementation.
