Saudi-Houthi Tensions Over Drone Strikes
Tensions between Saudi Arabia and the Houthi movement in Yemen are escalating, as it was announced that three drones were intercepted and destroyed north of Riyadh. This occurred concurrently with Houthi warnings to evacuate Aramco facilities and the possibility of targeting them. In response, the Saudi-led coalition announced its readiness to carry out a targeted operation in Sanaa, issuing warnings to civilians to evacuate the intended site, amid concerns over the escalation of the confrontation and its impact on civilians and infrastructure. Developments include Houthi threats to attack major oil facilities and a cautious military escalation by the coalition, with ongoing missile and drone attacks on sensitive areas in the region.
