Yiwu's 'World Supermarket' adopts automated guards

Since last month, Yiuo International Trade Market in China, the largest market for small commodities in the world, has deployed 16 quadruped robots as automatic security guards. This measure aims to enhance safety and monitor movement within the market, which hosts over 10,000 stalls across an area exceeding 6.4 million square meters. The robots are capable of jumping onto drawers and navigating complex corridors, equipped with thermal imaging and high-definition cameras, making it easier to detect fires and intruders. They can carry out patrols more efficiently than human guards. This new technology helps improve security levels and reduce the time and effort required to safeguard this massive commercial facility, as the development of robot systems continues alongside improved coordination with security personnel.
