Tigray camp attack kills 8

News reports indicate that a drone attack on a displaced persons camp in the Tigray region of northern Ethiopia resulted in 8 deaths and serious injuries to 6 others. This incident comes amid escalating violence and renewed clashes in the area, with the attack targeting a camp in the town of Sheraro in recent days. Fighting continues in the mountainous regions between government forces and opposition groups, and battles have led to the government forces taking control of the regional capital, Mekelle, marking a setback for the opposition alliance led by the Tigray People's Liberation Front. These clashes are part of a broader escalation in the ongoing conflict that has been raging since September, causing thousands to be displaced and renewing destructive fighting in the region.
