Iranian nuclear program overview after seven months

The article discusses Iran's potential plans to resume uranium enrichment following the strikes that targeted enrichment facilities in Natanz and Fordo, which caused significant damage and destroyed some facilities. Prior to the attacks, Iran possessed approximately 440.9 kilograms of uranium enriched to 60 percent, a level close to what is needed for nuclear weapons, despite Tehran's insistence that its program is peaceful. Experts keep a stockpile of 60 percent enriched uranium that could facilitate future increases in enrichment levels, while the International Atomic Energy Agency has been unable to determine the full amount of remaining material or its locations due to damage to the facilities and access restrictions. The Biden administration aims to impose restrictions on Iran's enrichment capabilities, including reducing enrichment levels and limiting centrifuge numbers, in an effort to prevent Iran from acquiring material that could be used to develop nuclear weapons. The fate of the stockpiled and nuclear materials remains uncertain following the strikes.
