Turkey detains final suspects in 2013 Reyhanlı attack

Turkish authorities have successfully detained all those involved in the Reyhanlı bombings that occurred in 2013, which resulted in the death of 53 people. This includes the main suspect, Mevlut Oural (Ali Kaily), who was arrested in Syria while attempting to flee the country. Operations began in 2018 and culminated recently with a joint Turkish-Syrian effort that led to Oural’s capture on October 14, 2026. He had been living in disguise in Syria and is believed to have been a leader of the "Ağjiljer" organization. All the accused were taken to Turkey, and cases related to planning and coordinating the attacks were initiated. Several of the suspects face life imprisonment, marking these efforts among Turkey’s most significant initiatives to pursue those responsible for terrorist attacks in the region.
