Tehran extends talks to undermine Trump before polls

The article discusses Iran's efforts to prolong negotiations with the United States in order to weaken President Trump ahead of the Congressional elections in November 2024. It emphasizes that Tehran deliberately delays reaching an agreement due to fears of new American and Israeli strikes, aiming to retain leverage over the nuclear file and sanctions. The article clarifies that Iran does not trust the United States and considers an breakthrough before the elections unlikely, as tensions continue to impact its economy and increase internal unrest. It also notes Iran’s calls for the lifting of the blockade and the opening of the Strait of Hormuz, but highlights that Tehran refuses to make concessions, remaining in a state of constant tension with Washington and Tel Aviv.
