The capital's security services managed to apprehend the young man K. Ayman Mokhtar, 29 years old and originally from Relizan Province, after an arrest warrant was issued against him by the Sid Ammar misdemeanor court on charges of stealing from two Mauritanian women. The victims were subjected to theft by the suspect and his accomplice, as he attempted to attack them with a bladed weapon and steal their belongings, including jewelry, a computer, and money. The suspect had previously been sentenced to two years in prison with forced labor and a monetary fine. The prosecution has requested a 10-year prison sentence along with monetary fines. A verdict in the case is expected next week. This development comes as part of ongoing police efforts to combat crime in the capital.
