Algeria Reaffirms Commitment to Peace Principles
Algeria reaffirmed its steadfast commitment to supporting peace and security in Africa through its presidency of the African Union Peace and Security Council in August 2026. The presidency program includes a comprehensive assessment of security situations, monitoring field crises and conflicts such as in Sudan and South Sudan, and enhancing coordination among various African Union organs to ensure effective implementation of outcomes. This move is part of Algeria's ongoing efforts to promote stability and development across the continent, with a focus on African solutions to African problems and strengthening cooperation with African countries and international organizations.
