Algerian forces intercept militants in Tamanrasset

The Algerian Army forces successfully carried out a precision operation in the Tamenrasset sector of the Sixth Military Region, resulting in the elimination of a smuggler and the arrest of four armed individuals. During the operation, more than 80 kilograms of cocaine were seized, concealed in three utility vehicles. The operation, part of ongoing efforts to combat smuggling and organized crime, also led to the recovery of an FMPK machine gun, a Kalashnikov rifle, ammunition, and mobile phones. These results reaffirm the effectiveness of the military strategy in thwarting attempts to smuggle harmful substances and preventing the expansion of the drug trade in the country.
