Katy Perry’s Firework Foundation is seeking approval to build Gratitude Canyon, a youth camp and event center on 110 acres in Goleta, California. Nearly 380 nearby homeowners oppose the project, citing wildfire evacuation risks, traffic, noise and concerns about off-season events; the foundation says the plan preserves most of the land and includes fire-safety measures. Santa Barbara County deemed the application complete on September 21, and environmental reviews and public hearings are expected before elected officials decide on the proposed zoning changes.
