The Russian Federal Security Service announced the arrest of more than 20 individuals in Moscow involved in illegal cryptocurrency trading platforms. These platforms are used by Ukrainian call centers to carry out cyber scams and to transfer stolen funds from Russian citizens abroad. The statement confirmed that these platforms operated by buying and selling cryptocurrencies for citizens, often targeting victims of deception, and then transferring the funds to accounts controlled by Ukrainian supervisors. They also recruited young Russians online to serve as intermediaries. Security efforts continue to identify the victims, and authorities are investigating ways to compensate those affected by these frauds.
