Rima Al-Rihbani categorically and professionally rejected any attempts to honor her late brother Ziyad Al-Rihbani by festivals and organizations, considering that such actions go beyond the bounds of respect and distort his musical legacy. She emphasized that the decision to prohibit such honors is not about seeking exclusivity but is an authentic stance reflecting Ziyad's own wishes, which must be respected—citing the words of her late father, Assi Al-Rihbani. Rima criticized current activities that boast of honoring and fundraising, pointing out that Ziyad aimed to serve the audience by setting ticket prices and waiving part of his fee to ensure the continuity of artistic work. She affirmed that the true honor for Ziyad lies in broadcasting and respecting his original works, not just in superficial events and appearances. She called for focusing on what truly and sincerely reflects his legacy.
