Editor Nasreen Fakhoury Reflects on the Past
The article discusses autumn memories and the impact of its colors on reminiscing about the past, especially the 1970s and 1980s, through vintage colors and images that evoke facades and cabinets. It highlights a social media trend that has humorously and beautifully revived those eras, where women discovered that they loved their old photos because they evoke a sense of slow pace and comfort, away from the fast-paced modern life. The article suggests that returning to the past is not just nostalgia but perhaps a break from the pressures of the present, as memory can offer us a chance to appreciate values and moments that pass quickly. It emphasizes the importance of reclaiming the slow-paced life and reflecting on it, all while understanding that the past cannot be recreated exactly as it was but can be viewed through new eyes.
