The House of Representatives' Labor Committee is preparing to discuss the draft law on wage increases and bonuses for 2026. The law includes determining the rates for periodic and special bonuses, increasing the additional incentive for workers, and raising the minimum wage to 8,000 Egyptian pounds per month. The implementation of the increases is expected to begin starting July 1, with an estimated cost of up to 100 billion Egyptian pounds. It includes a 12% periodic bonus for employees covered under the Civil Service Law and a 15% special bonus for those not covered by it, along with a monthly stipend of 750 pounds to help employees improve their living standards. The package also offers special benefits for teachers and workers in the healthcare sector, aimed at enhancing the quality of services provided to citizens.
