The main news is about Al-Ahli Club and several other African clubs awaiting a decision from the Confederation of African Football (CAF) regarding an increase in the number of spots allocated to participating clubs in the Champions League and the Confederation Cup for the upcoming season. A CAF Executive Committee meeting will be held in the coming hours to discuss the proposal, which could give Egyptian clubs a greater opportunity to participate, especially since Al-Ahli has not been able for the first time in more than two decades to secure a direct spot in the Champions League under the current system. If CAF approves the proposal, the number of spots will be increased, opening the door for Al-Ahli, Zamalek, Pyramids, and other teams to regain representation in both tournaments. This is considered a historic opportunity for Egyptian clubs to strengthen their continental participation.
