The article addresses the decision by the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority to refer the four mobile companies to the Public Prosecutor's Office for investigation regarding the existence of mobile phone lines registered using users' data without their knowledge or possession. This measure comes after the authority received complaints from users, conducted inspections, and emphasized the need to protect users' rights and personal data. Additionally, the authority has launched urgent regulatory measures, including suspending the activation of new lines and sending text messages to existing users to re-verify their lines under the true owners' names. There is also a focus on developing biometric verification mechanisms in the near future to enhance the security of line registration. These steps aim to ensure the proper system for registering and verifying the true identity of line owners and to prevent future violations.
