Nabil Fahmy, Secretary-General of the Arab League, highlighted the importance of Arab countries actively participating in the development and guidance of artificial intelligence technology, rather than merely consuming it, to promote economic and social transformation and comprehensive development. He emphasized that AI has become a key driver of this transformation and that the future requires a strong infrastructure, the exchange of expertise, and coordinated efforts among Arab nations. Fahmy also pointed to the importance of establishing a permanent Arab Committee on Artificial Intelligence and implementing action plans based on it, with the goal of executing realistic strategies that consider risks and promote the digital economy, while working to reduce the digital divide and achieve technological sovereignty for Arab countries.
