Zoo opening set for 2026 with new name Animal Garden
The opening of the Giza Zoo is expected to approach in 2026 following the completion of comprehensive development work that began in July 2023. This includes upgrading infrastructure, designing animal habitats, improving pathways, while preserving historic landmarks such as the Eiffel Bridge and the Wildlife Museum. The zoo is being connected to Orman Garden via a modern tunnel to create a unified tourist and entertainment corridor, aiming to offer an experience that combines wildlife, nature, and history. Preparations are ongoing to ensure the facilities are ready and to complete operational procedures. The official opening date is expected to be announced after all requirements are met, before the end of 2026.
