Samir Farag Highlights Shazli's 1967 Return
The video discusses the biography of Field Marshal Saadeddin Shazly, one of Egypt's most prominent military leaders. He participated in numerous major wars, including the 1956 and 1967 wars, as well as the Yemen War. He led the Paratroopers during the Tripartite Aggression (the Suez Crisis) and was the only one to return from the 1967 War with his equipment and vehicles intact. He also commanded the Red Sea region during the War of Attrition and served as Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces during the October War in 1973. The most painful moment for him was watching Sadat being honored for the victory on television while he sat at home. Several landmarks and a school have been named after Shazly in recognition of his achievements.
