Increase in land assaults countered by new cities
Prime Minister Mustafa Madbouly stated that violations on agricultural lands and informal settlements had been increasing, had it not been for the implementation of new cities. He explained that the government plans to establish 39 new cities by 2050, with 27 already developed. He pointed out that New Cairo now has a population of 3 million, and October City is home to 2 million, as part of efforts to improve urban development and reduce encroachments on agricultural lands.
