Sisi opens rebuild forum
President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi announced the launch of the sixth edition of the celebration of Post-Conflict Reconstruction and Development in November 2026, under the title “Twenty Years of Building and Sustaining Peace: From Policy to Implementation.” He called for a review of progress made since the adoption of the African Union’s policy and for commitments to be turned into tangible projects, with increased funding, priority given to the needs of affected communities, and young people, women and the private sector involved. He also reaffirmed Egypt’s ongoing efforts, including hosting the sixth Aswan Forum for Sustainable Peace and Development in Aswan at the end of the month.
