The Referees Committee is working to bring in a top European officiating team for the Al Ahly–Pyramids match in the ninth round of the Egyptian League, scheduled for November 23 after the international break. It has contacted the football associations of England, Spain, France, Italy and Germany, and has also approached the Portuguese Football Federation in case the date clashes with European competitions. The federations of Brazil and Venezuela have been put forward as alternatives if a European team cannot be secured. Pyramids lead the table with 24 points, followed by Al Ahly with 20.
