Youssef Nadi Mohamed Abu Sari, a second-year preparatory student at the boys’ Al-Azhar Institute in Afwa, was killed after being run over by a heavy truck at the entrance to Afwa village in Beni Suef’s Al-Wasta district. The incident followed an earlier accident in the area. The article links the repeated accidents to the narrow village entrance and truck traffic, and asks why trucks pass through the village instead of taking wider roads. It calls for heavy-truck routes to be reviewed, their passage regulated, and the entrance made safer, as well as for the road to be widened or for other measures to separate pedestrians and cyclists from trucks.
