Hamas Consents to Militia Management and Weapons in Peace Plan
Sources reveal that the leadership of Hamas in Gaza has agreed to the final formulation presented by mediators regarding clauses five and eight of the "Peace Council" plan. These clauses are related to the management file and the weapons of the factions, which could accelerate negotiations on a ceasefire and the future administration of the Gaza Strip. Clause five addresses the situation of employees, debts, and financial obligations since 2007, as well as the future of resistance weapons and the powers of security agencies during the transitional phase. This was one of the main obstacles to reaching an agreement. The plan also includes arrangements for managing Gaza that eliminate Hamas's governing committee and replace it with a temporary judicial structure, aiming to facilitate understandings without currently addressing disarmament or Israeli withdrawal. This comes amid international efforts to establish a stability force and form a transitional Palestinian civil administration.
