Germany supports Gaza disarmament pact
The German government announced its support and welcome for a transitional disarmament agreement in Gaza. Foreign Minister Johannes Vitalol confirmed that Germany will participate in implementing the agreement announced by U.S. President Donald Trump. The aim of this agreement is to compel Hamas to effectively withdraw its weapons, open additional crossings for humanitarian aid into Gaza, and create an environment conducive to the gradual surrender of heavy weapons. Disarmament is considered a fundamental step toward establishing a new Palestinian government in Gaza, with the expectation that the process will take some time, beginning with the first handover of police weapons.
