The Central Wholesale Market in Amman has seen the arrival of large quantities of vegetables and avocados. Today’s imports reached 2,079 tons of vegetables and 849 tons of fruits, with a significant decrease in prices for some varieties. For example, the price of tomatoes ranged between 5 and 15 piastres per kilogram, averaging about 10 piastres, which is lower than prices in previous months. Meanwhile, the price of potatoes ranged from 20 to 45 piastres, lettuce between 15 and 25 piastres, and cucumbers between 20 and 40 piastres. This decline in prices is reflected on consumers, as vegetable prices in the current market are among the lowest in recent times, meeting market needs and easing purchasing burdens on families.
