The Hungarian government has requested that Britain return two Lipizzaner horses that were gifted to King Charles III in 2024 upon his accession to the throne. A news report indicated that the Hungarian message sent in July included an official request for the horses' return. However, Hungarian authorities later expressed that the demand was the result of an "administrative error," and that the horses would remain in Britain, acknowledging that they are considered the property of Hungary under the leasing agreement, despite being given as a gift. The two horses, "Nelson" and "Efico," did not participate in official events and are now housed at Windsor Stables. It is also noted that the Hungarian government is planning to review its relations with Britain, while still maintaining possession of the horses.
