The results of the school health survey in Jordan revealed that about 33% of school students aged 13 to 17 suffer from overweight or obesity, with 12.1% classified as obese and 20.8% as overweight. It also showed that a small percentage of students engage in more than 60 minutes of physical activity daily, and participation in physical education classes is weak. In response to these findings, the Ministry of Health has taken measures to improve the nutritional environment in schools, including establishing standards for healthy canteens, enhancing food control, and promoting physical activity through the activation of physical education classes and encouragement of movement-based activities, all aimed at reducing risk factors associated with obesity and improving students' health.
