Prime Minister Jafar Hassan announced the expansion of the free school transportation project in the southern desert regions to include an additional 3,500 students, bringing the total number of beneficiaries to 12,500 students and 900 teachers, starting from the beginning of the second semester. This decision follows an evaluation that proved the success of the first phase, which was launched at the start of the academic year. The project has helped solve transportation issues and reduce financial burdens on families by providing free buses. The government is partnering with the private sector to operate 120 buses in the first phase, with a future plan to expand the service to include central and northern regions of the kingdom. Additionally, a smart application will be implemented to monitor student transportation, connecting the buses to an electronic tracking system and cameras.
