Flydubai captain undergoes emergency surgery
The captain of the "Fly Dubai" airplane, Indian pilot Soumit Matar, was assaulted with a knife by the Omani co-pilot during the flight, forcing an emergency landing in Tabuk. The captain was transferred to a hospital in Tabuk for emergency surgery, then later moved to Dubai to continue treatment. Emirati authorities are investigating the incident, with reports suggesting the possibility that the stabbing was carried out using an axe found in the cockpit. The captain's family from Mumbai has traveled to Dubai, and the passengers who saved the flight from a disaster have been honored.
