Selim Aoun on Financial Reform: No Double Cost for Lebanese
The article highlights criticisms by Deputy Sulaim Aoun of the Lebanese government's performance in addressing the financial crisis. It clarifies that the main issues relate to confusion in decision-making, arbitrary borrowing, and an unclear approach to handling depositors' rights and bank losses. He emphasized the necessity of implementing a clear plan for economic reform, which includes a comprehensive criminal audit to identify responsibilities and the true extent of losses. He also called for avoiding hasty decisions and proposing well-thought-out, responsible solutions that ensure the protection of depositors' rights and prevent them from bearing the burden of losses resulting from mismanagement by authorities.
