Efforts to connect Washington and Hezbollah
According to American sources, Washington is seeking to establish a direct communication channel with Hezbollah through intermediaries, in an attempt to improve understandings and reduce tensions. These efforts come in the context of dialogue experiences with other factions such as the Taliban and Yemen, where Washington has successfully reached security agreements. Despite internal and external support for the idea of direct negotiations with Hezbollah, the party currently refuses to engage in direct communication, as it has not received any real benefits from such meetings. Hezbollah believes that the American administration is using dialogue solely as a political tool.
