Algeria 2027 BudgetAiming to Safeguard Purchasing Power
The Algerian Council of Ministers has approved the draft 2027 finance law, following directives from President Abdelmadjid Tebboune not to impose taxes that could affect citizens' purchasing power. This comes alongside a plan to increase wages and develop the economy outside the oil and gas sector. The project aims to protect social cohesion and promote economic growth, with funding for major infrastructure projects such as the railway line in the south, and the development of non-oil sectors to increase hard currency revenues by more than $50 billion annually. These directives are part of Algeria's efforts to diversify its economy and reduce dependence on oil, with expectations of sustained growth exceeding 4%.
